Trees under water
TREES UNDER WATER / CETATE
Almost every year the Danube floods the banks near Cetate, temporarily claiming some of the land. The trees transform into amphibians coexisting for some weeks with the fish and other underwater creatures. It is a wonderful opportunity to get a boat and investigate the area.
Sonoro Festival
THE BREIF
Photographing SoNoRo Festival since 2008, was to me like a dream come true. Being there to capture those incredible moments and listen to those wonderful musicians is definetely a photographers’ paradise. In preparing this gallery I realised how difficult is to select just a few photos from so many beautiful moments, from many thousands of images to limit myself to only about 200 to reflect these ten years of my contribution to the festival…
WHAT I DID
So I decided for the sake of this exercise to focus on people and of course, though them, on music. The journey was amazing and equally rewarding as throughout these ten years, I have met wonderful musicians and experienced incredible moments, on- and off-stage, in the tours and during the preparation of the festivals, in short, amazing moments which I hope these photos will manage to reflect the atmosphere.

The Sleeping Beauty!
THE STORY
After our month trip to China in 2011 I put together some photos with people sleeping here, there and everywhere. If you look at these images you would think that Chinese people do nothing but sleep. On the contrary! They work very hard (hence the growing economy and worldwide influence), they wake up very early to take care of their own business so whenever they could rest they don’t hesitate to loose the chance.
Oxford Chamber Music Festival

I have photographed this festival the following years as well and I have met wonderful musicians throughout these years. These are some of them captured in this project: Priya Mitchell, Ivry Gitlis, Daniel Rowland, Lise Berthaud, Katharine Gowers, Zoran Markovic, Chen Halevi, David Cohen, Bram van Sambeek, Zora Slokar, Bjorg Vaernes Lewis, Alexander Lonquich, Polina Leschenko, Katya Apekisheva and Charles Owen.

The hidden side of the Opera House
THE BREIF
In 2008 I spent nearly three months taking pictures in the National Bucharest Opera House, the outcome of the project being a black & white photo album published some months later. The are 630 people working in the Opera House, a city within a city, with so many rooms that I got lost so many times. This is a glimpse of the photo album which tells a story of these wonderful people, from ballet dancers and opera singers to electricians and stage planner.
WHAT WE DID
The best of the photos were published in a photo album at the end of 2008 and titled “The hidden side of the Opera House”. The album consists of black and white photos printed at a very high quality at a printed house in Bucharest.

Portrait of a Worker
PORTRAIT OF A WORKER
This is a first part of a project where 220 workers were photographed in an ad-hoc photo studio in the heart of a factory. Subjects were invited to be photographed with no other information given in advance but to be themselves - showing here always the first capture. This is an ongoing project - if you want your factory to be part in this project, drop me an email to discuss further details.
