Why now? Why in BW? Why at all?
Probably because the 2019’s edition of the Festival is knocking at our doors soon. Or maybe I realised that I have never told my story of the 2018’s edition in one place and as I like it to be seen, through the magical moments of backstage photography and in BW. There have been many places where my photos have been shown, in social media, magazines, newspaper etc but mostly, due to their specific purposes, where shown in colour and concerts shots mostly.
In my view there is nothing more interesting during a festival than what is happening
before and after the concerts, those moments when musicians rehears, socialise or relax. The process in itself of capturing these moments is a very intense one, you have to be ready to photograph at any moment. There is no posing (with just a few exceptions), there is no asking your subject to do something again or to move to the right or to the left, making these captures so honest and making the end result to truly reflect what was once said that photography is about capturing the moment.
Before I let you experience these special moments I write here the name of these wonderful musicians: Adrian Vasile, Alberto Mesirca, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Alexis Cardenas, Alina Pogostkina, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Bernhard Naoki Hedenborg, Diana Ketler, Jan-Erik Gustafsson, Jon Il Kad, Justus Grimm, Kyril Zlotnikov, Louis Lortie, Marc Bouchkov, Marianna Shirinyan, Max Baillie, Meghan Cassidy, Octavian Lup, Pavel Vernikov, Razvan Popovici, Valentin Radutiu and Vladimir Mendelssohn.
