Metamorphosen @ Stift Festival
Metamorphosen is a study for 23 solo strings written by Strauss with a fascinating story behind this piece. It is believed Strauss wrote it as a statement of mourning for Germany’s destruction during the war (more on this here). For me this was the last concert I attended while in Holland, at Stift International Festival and although unfortunately I do not know the names of all 23 wonderful artists that were on the stage on that evening, I would still like to name the few I photographed in this selection, and in no particular order: Paul Cassidy, Jacqueline Thomas, Rachel Roberts, Julian Arp, David Cohen, Dana Zemtsov, Zoran Markovic, Ian Belton, Francesco Sira and Daniel Rowland (also Artistic Director of the Stift Festival).
